VolunTeen
Allerton Public Library District offers an ongoing volunteer program for teens!
You can volunteer at the library regularly, or as your schedule allows. We can provide a record of your volunteer service to meet school or extracurricular requirements.
We cannot provide volunteer opportunities for court-ordered volunteering.
You must be between the ages of 13-17 to become a VolunTeen.
You must have parent or guardian permission.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a professional attitude and commitment to cooperation and customer service
- Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with patrons, staff, and other volunteers
- Be reliable and responsible for keeping commitments to volunteer hours
PRIMARY TASKS:
Active VolunTeen
- Dust shelves
- Help staff prepare for and clean up after programs
- Provide assistance at youth programs
- Retrieve books for displays
- Work on special community projects
- Help with large library events
- Write brief book reviews for our monthly newsletter.
Passive VolunTeen
- Promote library activities on personal social media account(s).
- Share photos of completed library crafts, such as our "Teen Take and Make" on personal social media account(s).
